When I look in Bonnie's eyes I see God looking back at me. She has such vibrant, sparkling
eyes. It's as if she knows all the Divine secrets. Bonnie's deaf so we don't communicate with
words. Though I do talk to her, but our connection and communication is of the heart.

Bonnie comes each day when I get home to take me for a walk. She waits patiently as I put
things away and change clothes. She doesn't complain or give me any impatient looks. No,
she waits lovingly with enthusiasm.

Have you guessed Bonnie's secret? She is Being who she is - Divine Spirit in the form of a
dog.

Bonnie is not just my walking companion she is a teacher.  She started walking me last year
after seeing me walk by her place so many times. We walk the same route each day - down
the road along the lake to a dock where I go stand over the water and marvel at the birds,
the sky and the light on the water.

Bonnie takes off running the moment she sees me start up the drive. She doesn't walk
beside me - she is having her own adventure! It doesn't matter that she has probably walked
this route a thousand times, in this moment it is fresh and new. She is down in the gullies, up
on the hills, running through the trees and grass. She stops ever so often and looks back to
make sure I'm coming and then she is off again. As I stand out on the dock she will come and
check back to make sure I'm there and then stand as a sentinel at the top of the
stairs, waiting patiently. When I'm ready to head back there she comes
running on ahead to what other mysteries await her.

As a teacher she leads with love and patience seeing everything as perfect.
She leads enthusiastically by embracing and being fully in each moment
and faces the journey with pure joy and a sense of adventure. She is a
wonderful teacher of Divine Love and Joy.  Reminding me that I'm here to
Be Love in the world, to Love as God Loves to See as God Sees.

She reminds me that every day I get opportunities to Be this Love and to see God looking
back at me in each person or creature that crosses my path. For if I can See as God Sees and
Love as God Loves then there is no separation or judgment, no male/female, no difference in
race, religion or nationality. Bonnie is a wonderful teacher of what all the great religions are
based on and she doesn't claim or reject any of them.  She reminds me to get out of my
head and into my heart. In the mind there is judgment and separation, in the heart there is
Oneness.
